Located in Millbury, Massachusetts, the Wheelabrator Millbury waste-to-energy facility provides dependable, environmentally safe disposal of municipal solid waste for more than 30 communities in Massachusetts, while generating clean, renewable electricity for sale to the local utility. Designed, constructed, owned and operated by Wheelabrator, Wheelabrator Millbury processes up to 1,500 tons per day of municipal solid. Wheelabrator Millbury has an electric generating capacity of 57,000 kilowatts; the equivalent of supplying the electrical needs of 41,000 Massachusetts homes.
