Wheelabrator Technologies Inc. is a world leader in the safe and environmentally sound conversion of municipal solid waste - and other renewable waste fuels - into clean energy.
Wheelabrator pioneered the waste-to-energy industry in the U.S. when it designed, built and operated the first commercially successful facility in Saugus, Massachusetts, in 1975. Three decades later, Wheelabrator is still operating its 1500-ton-per-day Saugus waste-to-energy facility.

- Maintains Permits in Good Standing: Wheelabrator has maintained all environmental permits in good standing under stringent federal and state regulatory standards at each of its facilities, without exception, throughout their 15- to 37-years of continuous operation;
- Total Waste Converted Into Energy: More than 179 million tons of municipal solid waste (MSW) has generated 94.5 billion kwh of energy (equivalent to 193 million barrels of oil or 50 million tons of coal);
- Metal Recovery and Recycling: Recovered and recycled more than three million tons of metals;
