Wheelabrator Technologies, working in partnership with the Massachusetts Audubon Society, gifted $100,000 to the Broad Meadow Brook Wildlife Sanctuary in Worcester, Massachusetts. The Broad Meadow Brook Wildlife Sanctuary was Massachusetts Audubon's first inner-city wildlife sanctuary. Wheelabrator's gift allowed the Sanctuary to hire a full-time Director and Caretaker and improve public and school education programs significantly.

Wheelabrator and Massachusetts Audubon's Alliance for Education program allows school children from Worcester to tour both the Wheelabrator Millbury waste-to-energy facility and the Broad Meadow Brook Sanctuary while learning about environmental protection.
