Wheelabrator Gloucester Inc.

Located in West Deptford, New Jersey, the Wheelabrator Gloucester waste-to-energy facility provides dependable, environmentally safe disposal of municipal solid waste for Gloucester County, New Jersey while generating clean electricity for sale to the local utility. The Gloucester facility processes up to 575 tons per day of municipal solid waste from Gloucester County. At full capacity, the plant, which sells electricity to Jersey Central Power and Light Company, can generate more than 15,000 kilowatt-hours of electrical energy per hour. This is the equivalent of supplying all of the electrical needs of more than 15,000 New Jersey homes.
